This article is going to tell you about these easter eggs, secret interactions, as well as some of the hidden details that have been scattered around in the world in Hogwarts, Hogsmeade and the surrounding Highlands.

The Secrets and easter Eggs

In Hogwarts Legacy you’ll be finding little details and nods in everything from catching the Hogwarts Express to waking up the slumbering Giant Squid. Without further adieu, here is a list of easter eggs that you’ll be able to find and where they are.

Secrets of the Darkest Arts

Secrets of the Darkest Arts

During the Hogwarts Legacy game you’ll need to break into the Restricted Section of the Library with another student named Sebastian, and if you pay close attention in this section you’ll notice that one book looks different from the rest. When you find this book then Sebastian will mention that this specific book is called Secrets of the Darkest Arts, which is actually the thing that made Tom Riddle seek knowledge about the Horcruxes in the first place, which would then lead to him eventually becoming Lord Voldemort.

Deathly Hallows

Deathly Hallows

Whilst you’re playing the quest called Niamh Fitzgerald’s Trial in Hogwarts Legacy, you’ll stumble across Death and all three Deathly Hallows, starting with the Cloak of Invisibility, then the Elder Wand, and then lastly the Philosopher’s Stone.

Goblet of Fire

Goblet of Fire

Whilst in Hogwarts you can climb the Grand Staircase all the way to the top floor, where you will then find yourself inside of the Trophy Room. inside this room you’ll be able to find the exact same jewel encrusted casket that actually holds the Goblet of Fire, which is the Goblet that was used to select the champions for the Triwizard Tournament.

Hermione’s Polyjuice Potion

Hermione’s Polyjuice Potion

If you wander into the girl’s bathroom, more specifically the one located near Professor Fig’s Classroom, you’ll find that someone has left a brewing Polyjuice Potion inside one of the stalls. This potion is a reference to when Hermione brewed the same potion in the Chamber of secrets.

Fred and George Weasley

When you are in Hogsmeade then there is a very big chance that you could run into a pair of ginger twins standing just outside of the Zonko’’s Joke Shop. These ginger twins are a reference to the Weasley Twins, who are the mischievous twin wizards who were the ones that actually co-founded and ran the joke shop called Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes.

The Chamber of Secrets Entrance

If you hear into the girls bathroom again, but instead this time it’ll be the girl’s Slytherin bathroom, you’ll find a sink that has the snake symbol on it. This snake symbol found here is the same one that you’ll find in the Chamber of Secrets, which is where Harry Potter himself needed to speak in Parseltongue in order to open the hidden entrance.

Deathday Party

Deathday Party

In the Hogwarts Legacy game you’ll actually be able to witness a few of the castle ghosts celebrating their Deathday inside of a gloomy and abandoned chamber. In order to be able to witness this for yourself you’ll need to unlock one of the locked gates that are located near the Slytherin Common Room entrance in Hogwarts.

A Mini Quidditch Match

A Mini Quidditch Match

A lot of gamers were disappointed that you aren’t able to participate in a game of Quidditch in Hogwarts Legacy, however there is a way that you will actually be able to watch a game being played. In order to do this you’ll first have to head into Madam Kogawa’s office and although it may not be as good as the real thing it is pretty cool to see an enchanted miniature version of the Quidditch Pitch included in the game.

Boys Throwing Up Slugs

Boys Throwing Up Slugs

In the Harry Potter franchise Ron had attempted to curse Draco with a Slug-vomiting Charm because he called Hermione a “filthy little Mudblood”. Sadly in Rons attempt to do this his spell ended up backfiring on him because of his broken wand. So as a reference to this scene you’ll actually be able to find a boy throwing up slugs in the Hospital Wing.

Another cool thing about this scene specifically is that if you look across his bed, located on a table, you’ll find a note about this student blaming him for the cancelation of the Quidditch season.

Hagrid’s Hut

Hagrid’s Hut

At the southern entrance of Hogwarts you’ll actually be able to visit Hagrid’s Hut, just like it is in the book as well as the movies. Even though this game is based on the wizarding world 100 years before the events of the Harry Potter mainline series, you’ll still be able to find the iconic hut that looks exactly how it looks when Hagrid will live there in the future, including the famous pumpkin patch located next to it.

In regards to this Hagrid’s Hut easter egg you’ll also be able to find a gravestone with a Hippogriff design facing the lake, located behind the hut. This gravestone is a reference to Buckbeak, who is the Hippogriff that Harry and Hermione actually rescued with Sirius Black from near death.

Pear Portrait

Pear Portrait

If you want to enter the Hogwarts kitchens you can actually do so the exact same way that you will see characters in the Harry Potter series do, which would be by tickling the pear in the still-life painting of a fruit bowl.

So, if you do this and interact with the painting, you’ll see your character tickle the pear with their wand and then you’ll hear it giggle a little bit before it turns into a doorknob for you to use in order to gain access to the inside of the room.
