Apple has been granted a patent on technology that would make it possible to track a user’s movements in VR experiences using gadgets that Apple users may already own.

Apple patent

The new patents granted to Apple describe a system where a VR system uses watches, headphones, and a VR headset to track a user’s movements in VR experiences. The patents are likely related to the upcoming VR/AR headset that Apple is expected to unveil soon.

For several years, there have been rumors that Apple is developing one or more headsets that could be used for virtual and/or augmented reality. Some analysts believe that Apple may possibly unveil such a device at Apple’s developer conference WWDC, which is held in June. Others, however, believe that Apple will wait a while longer before showing off its VR/AR headset.
