Boring Company, one of Elon Musk’s companies, has been approved to expand its Vegas Loop, an underground tunnel system in Las Vegas that transports passengers with Tesla cars.

Vegas Loop

The expansion, approved by Clark County, will add 40 km and 18 new stations to the network. The system will have a total of about 105 km of tunnels and has already transported over 1 million passengers. According to the company, the highest number of passengers transported in a day was 32,000. The plan is to make it easier for people to reach more casinos, shops, as well as university and residential areas. A trip between the airport and the Las Vegas Convention Center, a distance of nearly 8 km, can take five minutes and cost $10.

Boring Company is funding the entire project on its own and plans to expand to residential areas in the north, west, and east of the Strip.
