Whisker has released a fourth version of the automated litter box Litter-Robot.
Just like its predecessors, Litter-Robot 4 can separate cat poop from the litter in the box and collect it in a container, which ensures that the litter in the box is always fresh when the cat decides to do its business. Litter-Robot also has a scent device so that the poop in the container does not spread odor in the room after the cat has done its business.
Furthermore, there are a variety of sensors that can keep track of the cat or cats using Litter-Robot and send this information to a corresponding app. In the video below, you can check out some of the different functions that Litter-Robot offers.
Litter-Robot 4 costs around $700. Engadget has tested the latest version of Litter-Robot and writes, among other things, about it:
The Litter Robot 4 is an extravagance, but it’s one that tired cat owners may find useful. Just don’t expect any miracles. You’ll still need to watch out for errors, do some manual scrubbing and sweep up stray litter. The perfect self-cleaning litter box isn’t here yet, but the Litter Robot 4 is as close as you’ll get.
