How to Open the Main Gates

Once you’ve finished having your talk with Natty, in the High Keep Quest, you’ll need to head on forward and then make a right soon afterwards so that you are able to climb on up to the battlements. When you’ve gotten up here to the battlements you must then hit a mechanism on your left with the Depulso spell. Once you’ve managed to hit it you will then have to use Wingardium Leviosa to move the crate inside to the right. Once you’ve managed to move the crate enough you can then climb on top of it and then climb a little bit more to reach the upper rampart.

wooden boards

Once you get up here you will see some wooden boards in front of you, which are blocking a crawlspace, you must hit these wooden boards away and then crawl through it. When you’re inside this crawlspace you just need to head to the right and use your Accio spell in order to pull the ring on the wall, which will actually stop the gate from closing fully.

Once you’ve completed all these steps you’ve made it past all the hard stuff and now all you’ll have to do is have Natty join you as you walk up to the gate. When you get to the gate you will automatically witness a cutscene in which Highwing, the hippogriff, breaks out while dark wizards are hitting it with spells.

Final Words

Once you’ve done this you just have to carry on with the High Keep quest and at the end you will be rewarded with quite an epic surprise, control over a flying mount!
