The goal for 2030 is for Tesla to manufacture 20 million cars per year. To achieve this, they need to produce a large volume of cars, and they plan to do so by making them “cheap”.
A new report from a Tesla supplier states that the company plans to build four million of these affordable cars per year by 2030. The cars will be a new entry-level option and affordable. Production will take place in several locations, including Mexico and China. It remains to be seen if the so-called Model 2 will be the car in question.
Elon Musk has previously talked about this model and said that it would cost about half of what it costs to manufacture a Model 3, which would have a significant impact on the price for customers.
Currently, Tesla has the capacity to manufacture a total of two million cars per year.
