German Bionic has launched a new version of its exoskeleton called Apogee, specifically developed for use in the healthcare sector, primarily to assist in patient lifting.
Initially developed to facilitate lifting in warehouses and industrial settings, Apogee has been further enhanced with Apogee+ to cater to the needs of the healthcare industry. Both Apogee, shown in the image below, and Apogee+, depicted in the image above, can provide an additional lifting force of up to 30 kg. Design-wise, there doesn’t appear to be much difference between the two versions, but Apogee+ is better adapted to meet the disinfection requirements prevalent in healthcare.
