Just as promised, Nintendo delivered a new Direct yesterday, focusing on the upcoming Mario game, Super Mario Bros. Wonder. As known, this will be a 2D game with various worlds and different abilities that Mario can use to navigate through the game’s levels. You will be able to play as several different characters, such as Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, as well as various color variations of Toad, Yoshi, and Nabbit.
In Super Mario Bros. Wonder, the friendly prince Florian invites Mario and his friends to Flower Kingdom, a not-so-distant land just beyond the Mushroom Kingdom. However, Bowser, the King of Koopas, has different plans. With just a single touch of the mysterious Wonder Flower, Bowser merges with Prince Florian’s castle. Thanks to Bowser’s newfound powers, chaos spreads across the land. Now, it’s up to Mario and his friends to stop Bowser and save the kingdom.
In the kingdom, you’ll be able to find so-called Wonder Flowers with mysterious powers that can cause dramatic changes to the game world. The terrain, for example, can start tilting, your perspective can shift, or you can float through space. Up to four players can play locally or online.
In addition to the game’s release on October 20th, Nintendo will also launch a new OLED Switch with a Super Mario Bros. Wonder theme. However, this Switch will be released a week earlier, on October 6th.
