The first substantial update for Baldur’s Gate 3 was released last week and addressed over 1,000 bugs and issues that were impeding our progress in the adventure. With that done, Larian says they can now sit down and tackle matters beyond just bugs.
In a post on Steam (warning: mild spoilers), they mention that update number two is just around the corner and will include significant performance improvements. These enhancements will apply to the entire game, but especially the game’s third act, where many have complained about severe frame rate drops.
Another point that has garnered some complaints is how the story concludes for a particular character, and Larian states that they will be adding a new alternative ending for that character. Additionally, in the future, we will be able to change the appearance of our characters during gameplay and even dismiss characters from our group who belong to an offline co-op player.
We don’t have a specific date for the second update, but expect it to arrive fairly soon.
