Here’s a new trailer for the upcoming dramedy The Book of Clarence. The film draws its story from the Bible, but it’s not exactly a literal interpretation.
The film is about Clarence, who, in an attempt to get rid of debts and have the opportunity to start a new life, begins to imitate Jesus and claims to be a new Messiah. LaKeith Stanfield stars as Clarence, and the cast includes James McAvoy as Pontius Pilate, Micheal Ward as Judas, Teyana Taylor as Mary Magdalene, Babs Olusanmokun as Jesus Christ, and David Oyelowo as John the Baptist.
The Book of Clarence premiered at the London Film Festival last month and will be released in theaters on January 12, 2024.
