It’s trendy for games to be turned into series, and the latest addition is Dead Cells. Developer Motion Twin has announced, through a short teaser trailer, that the series will premiere in 2024 and will be produced by the French studio Bobbypills, which has also worked on the game’s animated trailers.
The series takes place on a cursed island plagued by an epidemic. An attempt by the island’s king to cure it unfortunately results in the residents transforming into monsters. The responsibility falls on a reluctant hero to slay the king, but he is far from willing to shoulder that burden.
There will be ten episodes, each around seven minutes long. Initially, the series will be released in France, with international release following.
