Tim Cook tells CNBC that he believes there are two reasons for the weaker sales, the first he believes is the general macroeconomic situation and the second is comparing to the unusually strong sales of the M1 MacBook Pro 14 and 16-inch from last year’s quarter.

The company is rumored to introduce a 15-inch MacBook Air soon, which could give the Mac sales a much-needed boost. iPad revenue fell 13 percent compared to last year’s quarter and Apple’s wearables category decreased by 1 percent. Mac sales decreased by over 31 percent to just over $7.17 billion.
