The game development platform Roblox announced a focus on generative AI last month and has now released two beta version tools that the company says will make it easier to create content that can be used on the platform.

Roblox

The first tool is called “Code Assist” and with it, Roblox users can get help with various snippets of code that can be added to their games. The second tool is called “Material Generator” and it helps users create materials for their games using an AI-powered feature.

Roblox CTO Daniel Sturman writes about the idea behind the new AI tools:

For example, some creators know how to code, but may have limited experience creating high-fidelity 3D models. Others may be more experienced with model design, but less experienced with code. In both cases, we see a future in which even a beginner (such as myself for example – I’m a terrible artist!) can get a running head start as they look to bring their imagination to life in a Roblox experience.”
