Electric vehicle company Canoo has now delivered the first of the electric minibuses ordered by NASA last year. The order consists of three minibuses intended for transporting NASA’s Artemis astronauts to the rockets that will take them to the moon.

The three buses have been modified to accommodate astronauts comfortably in their spacesuits, and NASA’s design team has been involved in selecting colors and other features for the minibuses’ interior and exterior.

The collaboration between Canoo and our NASA representatives focused on the crews’ safety and comfort on the way to the pad ahead of their journey to the Moon. I have no doubt everyone who sees these new vehicles will feel the same sense of pride I have for this next endeavor of crewed Artemis missions.
Charlie Blackwell-Thompson, NASA’s Artemis launch director.

In addition to transporting the Artemis astronauts to their lunar rockets, the Canoo vehicles will be used for various training and rehearsal activities prior to the missions, according to a NASA press release.

Below is a bonus clip where NASA showcases its old Astrovan, the bus that was used from 1983 to 2011 to transport astronauts to the space shuttles NASA previously used to send astronauts into space.
