Augumental is a new Bluetooth control device that is controlled by nothing less than the tongue.

MouthPad

Previously, people who cannot use their arms for interaction have had to rely on things like voice control, but this startup from MIT Media Lab hopes that the tongue can be a better alternative.

The device sits over the user’s upper teeth in roughly the same way as a face mask, and a tongue-sensitive control plate rests against the palate. Users can control cursors using tongue movements over the control plate. Contact with phone, tablet, or computer is via Bluetooth. Augumental also hopes that the design will not affect speech ability very much, so people can still communicate verbally while wearing MouthPad.
