As Google introduces the new AI model Gemini, which among other things is set to improve the chatbot Bard, Google is also rolling out the December Feature Drop – which includes a lot of new features.
First and foremost, Google’s own Pixel 8 Pro will be the first phone to run Google’s new AI model Gemini Nano for tasks such as summarizing voice recordings and creating responses to messages. Both of these functions will be driven directly on the device, without the need for the phone to communicate with Google’s servers.
Other new features include Night Sight for timelapse on Pixel 8 and 8 Pro, improved photo unblur, video boost for Pixel 8 Pro, the ability to use one’s phone as a webcam, and a feature that can remove dirt from scanned documents. All the new features can be seen in the video above.
