Now, another company has taken a stab at this, but in a slightly different way. Beeper Mini does not use any Mac on a server farm, but runs directly on your Android phone. This is possible because Beeper has managed to recreate iMessage, meaning that Android phones with the app actually send and receive iMessage messages.
