The four-year-old Fairphone 3 and 3+ phones are now getting Android 13, which is of course positive for those who have a Fairphone 3 and want to use it for as long as possible.
A beta version of the update is available for download today, and all Fairphone 3 and 3+ owners will be able to update to the new Android version in June.
The Fairphone 3 was originally released in 2019 with Android 9, followed by the upgraded Fairphone 3+ in 2020. Both models are supposed to be supported by the manufacturer until August 2024, but as with the Fairphone 2, Fairphone plans to continue supporting the phones until at least 2026. It remains to be seen how they will succeed in doing so.
