The ongoing legal proceedings between Activision Blizzard/Xbox and the FTC reveal a lot of interesting information about upcoming games.
Most recently, Xbox boss Phil Spencer disclosed that the announced game The Elder Scrolls VI is still very far away. We’re talking at least 5 years, with a release date around 2028 as the earliest possibility.
As I said with Elder Scrolls 6, it’s so far out it’s hard to understand what the platforms will even be at this point. It’s the same team that’s finishing Starfield, which comes out this September, So we’re talking about it being likely five-plus years away.
It is also unclear which platforms the game is planned for because it is still so far off. Spencer did not mention anything about the game being Xbox-exclusive, which is understandable as it likely wouldn’t work in Xbox’s favor in the lawsuit.
