In order to maintain a somewhat consistent number of frames per second, Starfield will be locked at 30fps on consoles.
According to Todd Howard, the reason for this is that the game will feature vast, open, and dynamic worlds where anything can happen. So, to avoid significant frame rate fluctuations, the game will be locked at 30fps on consoles. In terms of resolution, Starfield will run at 4K on Xbox Series X and 1440p on Xbox Series S.
Starfield will be released on September 9 for Xbox and Windows.
