Game company Rockstar has now teamed up with Cfx.re, the modding team behind the popular mods FiveM and RedM for Rockstar’s games Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2, respectively.
With FiveM and RedM, players can engage in role-playing versions of the games with other players in Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2. Exactly what this new official collaboration between Rockstar and Cfx.re will entail is unclear. In a blog post, Rockstar writes:
Over the past few years, we’ve watched with excitement as Rockstar’s creative community have found new ways to expand the possibilities of Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2, particularly through the creation of dedicated roleplay servers. As a way to further support those efforts, we recently expanded our policy on mods to officially include those made by the roleplay creative community.
By partnering with the Cfx.re team, we will help them find new ways to support this incredible community and improve the services they provide to their developers and players.
The details of the financial arrangement behind the partnership are not disclosed. According to both Rockstar and Cfx.re, Cfx.re is now a part of Rockstar, which might suggest that the team behind Cfx.re has been hired by Rockstar.
