Story Overview
A deadly virus is spreading across Los Angeles, California, turning its inhabitants into hungry zombies. The city is in quarantine and the military have long since retreated. You’ve been bitten, infected, but are more than just immune, you will learn to harness the zombie inside. Only you, and the handful of others happen to be resistant to the virus. You hold the future of LA in the balance. As you slowly uncover the truth behind the outbreak you’ll discover who – or rather what – you are. You will survive, evolve and eventually save the world.
Combat
Dead Island 2 is a first person combat based game. Delivering the most intense, visceral and gory first person experience possible, with plenty of weapons and tactical options to blast your way through the zombie horde. But you won’t just be able to hunt for zombies with a controller or mouse and keyboard. Dead Island 2 will be the first to take advantage of Amazon’s new Alexa Game Control that lets you control the game with your voice. “Hey zombie” will catch a nearby zombie’s ear, for example, while “get me my axe” will let you, well, wield your axe.
Setting
Dead Island 2 takes players across the most iconic locations of LA, now stained blood, in an exciting journey from the leafy suburbs of Beverly Hills to the quirky promenade of Venice Beach. It’s set in a version of Los Angeles mid-apocalypse which means you’ll get to battle zombies in these iconic locations. There will be various kinds of zombies to obliterate, all with an LA theme.
Co-op game play
As a proper RPG experience, Dead Island 2 offers plenty of interesting quests, a vibrant cast of characters, and a thrilling story, to truly immerse you in its unruly universe.
