The game currently on everyone’s lips is Starfield, but Bethesda has other titles in the pipeline as well. The Elder Scrolls VI was actually announced back in 2018 with a pre-rendered teaser trailer, but that’s also the only thing we’ve seen from the game. At the time, the game wasn’t in active development; it was only in a pre-production stage where Bethesda was outlining what it would eventually become.
However, Bethesda’s Head of Marketing, Pete Hines, has now confirmed to Spanish publication Vandal that the development has indeed started. When asked if we might get any news about the next Elder Scrolls after the release of Starfield, he responds that it will come in due time, but not for several years yet, even though they have people working on the game. He then clarifies that yes, The Elder Scrolls VI is actually in early development, not just in a design or concept phase.
Not too surprising given that it’s been five years since the game was announced, but now we have it in black and white.
