It’s almost certain: Steven Caple Jr., who directed “Transformers: Rise of The Beasts,” will return for the sequel. The recently released film “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” has proven that there is still plenty of spark in this franchise. With box office earnings of $170 million during its opening weekend, it’s only a matter of time before Paramount gives the green light for a sequel.

And it is likely that Steven Caple Jr. will return to the director’s chair. Deadline reports that the “Rise of the Beasts” director is in negotiations to take on another film:

  • It’s not official yet. We’re discussing it. I have planted a lot of things in this film for the future, so we’ll see. But as soon as we talk about the future, the word “we” is used, so yes, it just feels natural,” says Caple. Now the question is how the next “Transformers” film will weave in the G.I. Joe franchise, something that “Rise of the Beasts” briefly hinted at in the end.
  • I have some ideas on how to explore that aspect… If I get to do a crossover the way I want to, we have the opportunity to appeal to both Transformers fans and do something cool with another legendary franchise. It would be exciting,” the director reveals.
