In December, Netflix decided to pull the plug on “Warrior Nun,” a fantasy series that received high praise from both critics and viewers during its two seasons. Weak viewership numbers were cited as the reason for the cancellation.

Apparently, all hope is not lost, as the showrunner of the series confirmed today that there is more to come. While he doesn’t specifically mention a “third season,” could it be referring to a conclusive feature film?

“Today I’m happy to officially report that because of your combined voices, passion and amazing efforts, ‘Warrior Nun’ will return and is going to be more epic than you could imagine. More details to come! Soon!,” wrote Simon Barry on Twitter, expressing a big THANK YOU to all the fans.

The young adult series revolves around a secret order of nuns who protect the world from demons. The second season ended on a cliffhanger, which is always frustrating, so the promise of a grand continuation is undoubtedly good news for many fans.

It is also proof that fan engagement and vocal support can actually make a difference. Keep that in mind the next time a streaming service cancels your favorite series.
