Netflix launched its first ad-supported subscription in November last year. For $7 per month, it was then possible to watch Netflix in 720p on one device – with ads. At the same time, Disney offers an ad-supported subscription for $1 more with HDR and 4K. Now at least Netflix’s subscription gets a little better with support for 1080p and the ability to watch on two devices simultaneously instead of one.
Netflix says users in Canada and Spain will see the 1080p option and the ability to watch on two devices immediately, and the upgrades will roll out to all markets with the subscription at the end of the month. The ad-supported subscription is also available in the UK, US, Australia, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and South Korea.
