At this year’s Jump Festa event, it was announced that Wit Studio (Spy x Family) and Netflix will celebrate 25 years of One Piece by producing a new One Piece anime. This new version will be called The One Piece and will pick up from the East Blue saga.
In a press release, Netflix and WIT promised that The One Piece will be different from the Toei animation and will be completely standalone so that viewers can have a fresh yet familiar experience. This, combined with more modern animation techniques, is intended to ensure that Luffy’s renewed adventure stands on its own.
It is unclear when The One Piece will premiere, but for those who can’t wait, they can check out the more than 1,000 episodes of the regular One Piece on Crunchyroll.
