The Barbie movie has already achieved great success in theaters, which has left the toy company Mattel wanting more.
They are now planning additional films based on their toys. One of the upcoming films will be directed by Lena Dunham (from Girls) and will be about the mini toys Polly Pocket, with Lily Collins from the Netflix hit Emily in Paris starring in the lead role.
Other Mattel-owned items that they are actively trying to turn into films include Barney, Hot Wheels, Magic 8 Ball, Uno, and Major Matt Mason, where Tom Hanks is reportedly set to play the lead role.
In total, they are looking to make films based on about 14 toys, but it remains to be seen if all of them will come to fruition.
