Netflix announced today that they are partnering with game studio The Coalition to adapt the Gears of War video game series into film. The plan is to make at least one feature-length film and an animated series from the collaboration. There may be more Gears of War content later, but that depends on how the film and series perform.
The script for the feature film will be written by Jon Spaihts, who has previously written scripts for films such as Dune and Doctor Strange.
