Walt Disney Imagineering Research & Development has developed a small animatronic robot that may be used in their theme parks in the future.

The robot is about one meter tall and is intended to bring Disney characters of similar size to life in various contexts. In the video above, you can see what the robot looks like in the form of ‘Baby Groot,’ a character featured in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

However, the robot appears to be designed to depict other characters of similar size as well. Currently, Disney has no plans to introduce their new robot at their theme parks, but it is not at all impossible that it, or enhanced versions of the robot, may appear at Disney Parks facilities in the future.
