In addition to the new Nord CE 3 Lite 5G phone, OnePlus is also releasing the wireless in-ear headphones Nord Buds 2. According to OnePlus, the headphones have been equipped with a 12.4 mm “improvement driver” which should improve the bass quality.
Unfortunately, the sound quality of the headphones has not been impressive during the relatively short period we have had with the headphones. There is certainly no shortage of bass, but the rest of the sound sounds distant and like there is a constant surround effect activated, even though this is not the case.
The noise cancellation has a depth of 25 dB and blocks background noise quite effectively, although it does not quite reach the same level as more expensive headphones such as OnePlus’ own Buds 2 Pro or Bose’s latest QuietComfort Earbuds II.
A full charge should last up to 7 hours without a case and 36 hours with the charging case. 10 minutes of charging should provide up to 5 hours of use with active noise cancellation turned off. The headphones are also certified with an IP55 rating.
Nord Buds 2 are available in Lightning White and Thunder Grey.
