Apple’s journey to remove Intel chips from its computers is now complete. The new Mac Pro retains the same chassis as its predecessor but features the new M2 Ultra chip. The chip has 24 cores, a graphics processor with up to 76 cores, and twice the amount of memory and SSD storage compared to the previous Intel model.

Just like the Mac Studio, it is possible to configure the computer with up to 192 GB of memory with a unified memory bandwidth of 800 GB/s. Thanks to the M2 Ultra, the new Mac Pro is said to have built-in performance equivalent to seven Afterburner cards, which previously had to be purchased separately. This means the computer can handle 22 streams of 8K ProRes video.
