If you already own Final Cut Pro for Mac or subscribe to iPadOS, the update is free.

New Features for 10.7 for macOS:

  • Automatically scroll in the timeline so that clips appear under the playback head during playback.
  • Edit more efficiently by combining a selected group of connected clips into a connected storyline.
  • Display both video and audio role colors so you can easily see how the timeline is structured at a glance.
  • See improved results when using the object tracker’s brand new machine learning model to analyze movements in faces and other objects on Mac computers with Apple Silicon.
  • Use the enhanced Reveal in Browser feature to easily find a clip in the browser without losing your selected keyword collection or smart collection.
  • Export HEVC and H.264 files faster by simultaneously processing video segments across multiple available media engines (requires macOS Sonoma or later and a Mac with Apple’s M1 Max, M1 Ultra, M2 Max, M2 Ultra, or M3 Max).

New Features for 1.3 for iPadOS:

  • Record a narration voice and direct sound right into the timeline with the built-in iPad microphone or external microphones.
  • Get the perfect look with new stylish presets for color balancing.
  • Choose from a selection of new titles and generators.
  • Edit more efficiently by grouping connected clips into a connected storyline.
  • Control stabilization in professional camera mode.
