AI researchers, together with the American company Levatas, have now integrated OpenAI’s chatbot ChatGPT into Boston Dynamics’ robo-dog Spot so that it can both receive voice commands and answer questions.
In the video below, you can see some examples of when people give Spot different commands. The robot also answers questions about its battery status and how many inspections the robo-dog carried out during its latest mission. In addition to speaking, the ChatGPT-equipped Spot can also perform gestures for “yes” and “no” in response to different questions, which we also see in the video.
Levatas is one of Boston Dynamics’ partner companies, so it’s not unlikely that we could see ChatGPT, or some equivalent, integrated into all Boston Dynamics robots in the future.
