Amazon is now entering the competition for customers who want to utilize so-called generative AI and large language models in their business. Yesterday, Amazon presented something called “Bedrock,” which is a toolkit that can be used for generative AI development in several different areas.

Amazon states that Bedrock can, for example, be used to generate texts and chatbots, similar to OpenAI’s ChatGPT, and images, such as Dall-e, a tool also developed by OpenAI. Furthermore, Bedrock can be used to develop applications for various search functions for both texts and product searches.

So far, Amazon’s Bedrock platform is only available to invited AWS customers. There is no information yet on when the platform will be released publicly to all AWS users. Below is a segment from CNBC where Amazon CEO Andy Jassy talks a bit more about generative AI and Bedrock.
