In recent times, there have been several reports indicating that Nintendo is preparing to release a successor to its gaming console, the Switch. Now, Eurogamer and VGC report that “Switch 2” was shown to some game developers during last month’s Gamescom event in Cologne.
Those who had the opportunity to see Nintendo’s presentation reportedly viewed a version of Nintendo’s Zelda: Breath of the Wild that took advantage of the slightly higher performance of the “Switch 2.” Furthermore, a version of Epic’s The Matrix Awakens Unreal Engine 5 demo, featuring advanced ray tracing and Nvidia’s upscaling technology DLSS, was also showcased.
Nintendo has not officially commented on rumors of a Switch successor at this time. However, it seems that such a console is indeed in the works, and there is speculation that it will be unveiled sometime next year.
