Xbox Live Gold with Games with Gold hasn’t been very exciting lately, and most people have felt that it’s something Microsoft would rather leave behind to focus on Game Pass.
Now, Microsoft has announced a replacement for Xbox Live Gold that will be released in the fall. It’s called Xbox Game Pass Core, a new tier of Game Pass.
Subscribers to this tier will still have access to the game collection, but with a selection of titles available from the higher tier of Game Pass. Initially, this will include 25 games that these subscribers will have access to, and a selection of them can be seen below:
Among Us
Descenders
Dishonored 2
Doom Eternal
Fable Anniversary
Fallout 4
Fallout 76
Forza Horizon 4
Gears 5
Grounded
Halo 5: Guardians
Halo Wars 2
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice
Human Fall Flat
Inside
Ori and the Will of the Wisps
Psychonauts 2
State of Decay 2
The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited
The games obtained through Games with Gold will still be kept, and those with Xbox Live Gold will have their accounts automatically converted to Xbox Game Pass Core on September 14. The pricing is said to remain the same, and having at least this tier will still be required for online play.
