After all the wars against orcs and creatures in Middle-earth, there’s now a game where you can finally relax and smoke a pipe under a big oak tree. At least, that’s what it looks like in Weta Workshop and Private Division’s recently announced Tales of the Shire.
However, it’s unclear what the game will be about, but the teaser does look cozy, doesn’t it? Most people are likely familiar with the name Weta Workshop. They don’t have extensive experience in games, but they are no newcomers when it comes to visuals. They were the ones Peter Jackson used for special effects when making his Lord of the Rings and Hobbit films.
However, Weta has also had a game division since 2014 and has primarily worked on AR and VR projects. Tales of the Shire will be their first proper game and is intended to be released on consoles and PC next year.
