Today, Microsoft held the Xbox Live Showcase, and one of the games featured was “Star Wars: Outlaws”.
The game comes from Swedish studio Massive, known for their work on “The Division” games and currently developing “Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora”.
According to IGN, “Star Wars: Outlaws” takes place between the films “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi”. In the game, we play as Kay Vess, who, along with companion Nix, attempts the biggest heist in The Outer Rim, which is the part of the galaxy where Star Wars is set.
Unlike previous Star Wars games, this adventure is the first open-world game in the series. According to Lucasfilm Games, the custodian of the Star Wars license, Star Wars: Outlaws is an “action-adventure filled with characters and planets both new and old in the Star Wars galaxy.”
No gameplay was shown in the trailer, but at the end, it was announced that it would be revealed at Ubisoft Forward, which is happening tomorrow.
