If you’ve ever seen an advertisement for Sony’s Playstation, you’re probably familiar with the sound that plays with the Playstation logo. Unfortunately, Tohru Okada, who created the sound, has passed away. On February 14, he died of heart failure at the age of 73.
Interestingly, the PlayStation sound has a certain symmetry that you may not have noticed. It was composed by taking “tion” from the robotic “play-sta-tion” that is said at the end of the advertisement. So technically, each ad begins and ends in the same way.
