Warner Bros. Discovery announced yesterday that they will be making another Game of Thrones spinoff titled A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight.
The new series will take place approximately 90 years before the events of Game of Thrones and is based on George R.R. Martin’s “Tales of Dunk and Egg” books. The plot will revolve around what Ser Duncan the Tall (“Dunk”) and Aegon V Targaryen (“Egg”) were up to before they became Lord Commander of the Kingsguard and king, respectively. Warner Bros. Discovery writes about the upcoming series: A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms:
A century before the events of ‘Game of Thrones,’ two unlikely heroes wandered Westeros… a young, naïve but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg. Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight will be the second spinoff series of Game of Thrones. Previously, there was one season of the House of the Dragon spinoff series, and a second season of it is currently being filmed.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight will be broadcast on Warner Bros. Discovery’s new streaming service, Max, which was also announced yesterday.
