The Weeknd and Sam Levinson’s HBO series, The Idol, has been canceled after one season. The five episodes that were produced for the series were released earlier this summer.
In the TV series, we saw artists like The Weeknd, Lily-Rose Depp, Moses Sumney, Troye Sivan, and Blackpink’s Jennie, along with a soundtrack by The Weeknd.
The Idol’ was one of HBO’s most provocative original programs, and we’re pleased by the strong audience response. After much thought and consideration, HBO, as well as the creators and producers have decided not to move forward with a second season. We’re grateful to the creators, cast, and crew for their incredible work.
