Now you can choose to have your Google Meet meetings in 1080p. The new higher resolution is available on the web when using a computer with a 1080p camera and has sufficient processing power in meetings with two participants. The resolution is turned off by default, but can be turned on or off via the settings menu.
1080p is available for certain Google Workspace users and those with a 2TB Google One subscription.
