In the spring of 2019, McLaren introduced the GT model. A relatively restrained car focused on long journeys at a brisk pace, rather than setting any track records. Now comes its successor, the GTS, which compared to the previous version, has gained more power, reduced weight, and is said to be a bit more practical.
Engine-wise, it’s still about the 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8. Here it has gained an extra 15 horsepower, making a total of 635. The scale shows ten kilos less, so we’re not talking about monstrous figures in any direction, but some changes have been made. 0-100 km/h should take just over 3.1 seconds, and 200 km/h is reached in 8.9 seconds. The top speed is stated to be 327 km/h.
On the technical front, we find smart adaptive suspension, and it’s now twice as fast to raise the nose if needed to get over bumps and similar. There should also be more options available than before, and two new features are the Lava Grey paint and the turbine wheels seen in the pictures here.
Orders can be placed now, with delivery expected sometime next year. However, the price is not currently disclosed.
