AI company Stability AI is now releasing a new version of its text-to-image AI called Stable Diffusion XL (SDXL).
SDXL is claimed to be even better at generating photorealistic images based on text input, you can find an example above. Some who have already tested this generative AI state that it is superior to Midjourney, a competitor to Stable Diffusion, which has also been praised for its photorealistic images.
It is also possible to input custom images into SDXL and modify them using text commands provided to the AI (see example below). SDXL is released under an open-source license, which means it can be downloaded and run locally without paying any licensing fees to Stability AI. It is also available for online testing on platforms such as Clipdrop.
