Nike continues its crypto push and will soon release its first digital sneaker collection as an NFT. It is a collection that Nike calls Our Force 1 (OF1) which is a tribute to Nike’s classic sneaker model, Air Force 1.

Nike releases sneaker collection as NFT

Nike’s OF1 collection will be sold through the company’s NFT platform .SWOOSH, which was launched last year. There will be over 100,000 OF1s for sale and initially, the buyer will receive a digital shoebox with unknown content. Each NFT will cost $19.82, as a tribute to the year 1928 when the first model of Air Force 1 was released. Sales begin on May 8 for a select group of .SWOOSH users and May 10 for everyone on the platform.

At some point after May 10, it will be possible to open the box and see which model is inside. 3D drawings of the model will also be attached, which can be exported to compatible programs.

According to analysis firm Dune Analytics, Nike was the company that succeeded the most in the world in selling NFTs last year. According to their compilation, Nike’s various NFT initiatives had brought in $185 million to the company.
