Sennheiser, the company best known for its headphones, is now releasing a pair of earplugs called SoundProtex.
These are quite advanced earplugs that Sennheiser primarily intends for use during concerts. Unlike traditional earplugs, it is claimed that the user can experience the concert without the music being distorted or ruined by the earplugs. Sennheiser writes about SoundProtex:
“The advanced earplugs feature patented membrane filter technology. It allows users to enjoy perfectly balanced and full-frequency sound without damaging their hearing. By reducing the sound pressure reaching the inner ear, the filter potentially lowers harmful volume levels to a safe listening level.”
SoundProtex comes in two different versions. The standard version has an acoustic filter, while SoundProtex Plus has two additional acoustic filters that allow users to choose from three different levels of noise reduction. Sennheiser’s earplugs will be released at the end of the month.
