According to the Wall Street Journal, Netflix is considering live streaming its first sports event this autumn.
The streaming giant is reportedly planning a golf tournament in Las Vegas, which would feature some of the stars from other sports content on the platform, such as Drive to Survive and Full Swing. It seems unlikely that Netflix will start with a major rights deal for something like Formula 1 or the NHL, but it’s not entirely impossible that the service could eventually head in that direction.
It remains to be seen when and if we will get to witness this golf event from Netflix.
