The interest in vinyl records seems to be holding strong, and now the American vinyl record producer Furnace Record Pressing announces that the rock band Metallica has bought a majority of the company.
Furnace Record Pressing started its operations in 1996 and is now one of the largest vinyl record producers in the United States. Metallica has previously used the company to make vinyl versions of their albums, and just last year, Furnace Record Pressing manufactured 900,000 vinyl records of Metallica albums.
Since 2014, Metallica has sold over five million vinyl albums. The band will soon release its first album in seven years, 72 Seasons, which is likely to drive up sales of Metallica vinyl even more.
