The movie “The Age of Legends” will be the first part of a trilogy set thousands of years before Robert Jordan’s books.
The “Wheel of Time” books are already in the spotlight as a TV series on Amazon and a planned animated film titled “The White Tower.” Now, yet another upcoming project set in Robert Jordan’s beloved fantasy world is being announced: a movie trilogy set thousands of years before the books.
Deadline reports that the film “The Age of Legends” will kick off a trilogy of live-action movies exploring the mythic time before the battle between the first Dragon and the evil Dark One. The film will feature both “the Forsaken,” the powerful men and women who turned to darkness, and the heroes who fought against them on the side of light.
The director for “The Age of Legends” is Kari Skogland, best known for her work on the Marvel series “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.” The screenplay is by Zack Stentz, who has written “X-Men: First Class” and “Thor.”
“The Age of Legends” is said to be independent of Amazon’s ongoing TV series, which unfortunately perhaps means we won’t see Fares Fares and Alexander Karim reprise their roles as Ishamael and Lews Therin Telamon, respectively.
